Choosing the right industrial caster requires considering the core requirements of the application and accurately matching it to the needs of the application.
Calculate the load capacity.
Divide the total weight (equipment + load) by the number of casters, then multiply by a safety factor of 1.2 to determine the load capacity of each wheel. For example, if a total weight of 2 tons requires 4 casters, each wheel must be able to carry at least 600kg to avoid deformation due to overload.
Suitable Environments
For humid/food applications: Choose a stainless steel bracket and food-grade polyurethane wheels (corrosion-resistant and easy to clean);
For high-temperature/heavy industrial applications: Choose cast iron wheels or high-temperature nylon wheels (resistant to temperatures above 150°C);
For electronics workshops: Choose anti-static casters (made of conductive rubber to dissipate static electricity);
For chemical environments: Choose polyethylene wheels (resistant to acid and alkali corrosion).
Fit the surface and mobility requirements.
For rough surfaces (cement/mining), use metal wheels or thickened rubber wheels; for smooth surfaces (tile workshops), choose polyurethane wheels (to reduce wear). For flexible steering, choose universal wheels (with dual brakes); for linear movement, choose fixed wheels. Focus on details and features.
For frequent movement, choose a dual-bearing design (to reduce drag); for medical/laboratory applications, consider silent wheels with precision brakes; for outdoor use, consider UV-resistant wheels (to resist aging).
By selecting these dimensions, you can balance durability and cost-effectiveness, avoiding losses or safety hazards caused by the wrong choice.
