Which material of furniture caster is more suitable for carpet floor?

The core requirements of carpet floor (especially long-haired carpet) for casters are "not easy to sink, smooth rolling, wear-resistant and anti-winding". The following types of furniture casters are more suitable:

 

1. Nylon (PA) caster

 

Core advantages:

 

High hardness (Shore D 80-90), smooth and wear-resistant wheel surface, not easy to be stuck by the fluff when rolling on the carpet, and can easily pass through the short-haired carpet.

 

Good self-lubrication and low rolling resistance, even if it carries a certain weight (such as sofas and office chairs), it can reduce the "drag feeling".
It has strong corrosion resistance and is not easy to age due to moisture or cleaning agents. It is suitable for short-haired carpets in home and office scenes.

 

Applicable scenarios: short-haired carpets, low-haired carpets (such as office carpets, living room short-haired carpets), suitable for office chairs, coffee tables, light shelves, etc.

 

2. Hard polyurethane (PU) casters (high hardness)

 

Core advantages:

 

Medium to high hardness (Shore A 85-95), with both the wear resistance of nylon and the elasticity of PU, it can avoid sinking when rolling on the carpet and buffer slight bumps.

 

The wheel surface is not easy to stick to hair, easy to clean, suitable for scenes with certain requirements for "silence" (such as bedroom carpets).
It causes little damage to carpet fibers and will not hook the carpet fluff like metal casters.

 

Applicable scenarios: medium and short-haired carpets (such as bedroom carpets, children's room carpets), suitable for bed frames, wardrobes, storage cabinets, etc.

 

3. Metal casters (with wide wheel surface design)

 

Core advantages:

 

Metal (such as cast iron, stainless steel) wheel frames have strong load-bearing capacity. After being matched with wide wheel surface rubber/PU wheel surface, it can disperse the weight, reduce the pressure on long-haired carpets, and avoid sinking.

 

It has extremely strong wear resistance and is suitable for heavy furniture on long-haired carpets (such as large sofas and storage shelves).
Note: It must be equipped with rubber/PU wheel surface (pure metal wheel surface will damage the carpet and produce noise), and the wheel surface width is recommended to be ≥5cm and the diameter is ≥3 inches.

 

Applicable scenarios: long-haired carpets, thick-pile carpets (such as long-haired carpets in the living room and exhibition hall carpets), suitable for heavy furniture and commercial display racks.
