Industrial casters are designed for heavy loads, extreme environment resistance, and long life, making them suitable for high-intensity environments such as factories and warehouses. Each wheel typically has a load capacity of at least 200 kg, with heavy-duty models exceeding 1000 kg. They feature a large wheel diameter (75–200 mm) and a wide tread (≥30 mm) to distribute pressure, protect the floor, and ensure stable rolling.

 

They are often made of reinforced nylon, cast iron, or low-temperature-resistant polyurethane. The bracket is typically constructed of thick steel (≥2.5 mm) and equipped with deep-groove ball or needle roller bearings. Some casters feature seals to withstand dusty and oily environments. They often feature dual brakes, anti-tangling, and shock-absorbing features, emphasizing safety and reliability. Their service life is generally expected to be 1–3 years.

 

Supermarket shopping cart casters focus on "lightweight, quiet, flexible, and low-cost" and are suitable for smooth indoor floors. Each wheel typically has a load capacity of less than 50kg, a small wheel diameter (50–75mm), and a narrow tread (15–25mm) to reduce material and rolling resistance. The wheel body is often made of ordinary PU or rubber, and the bracket is often made of thin steel (≤1.5mm) or plastic, with simple bearings for low cost.

 

They typically adopt a "two-way directional front and two-way universal rear" structure, rarely equipped with brakes, emphasizing user experience and quiet operation. They have a lifespan of approximately 6–12 months and can be replaced at low cost if damaged.

 

In summary, industrial casters focus on heavy loads, durability, and comprehensive functionality, while shopping cart casters strive for lightness, low cost, and quietness. Due to their different application scenarios and performance requirements, the two are not interchangeable.
