There's no fixed standard for the service life of TPE casters, but they typically last over a year under normal use and 3-5 years or even longer with proper maintenance. The specific service life is affected by the following factors:
Usage scenario: In indoor environments with flat floors, such as homes and offices, with low usage and light loads, TPE casters can have a service life of 3-5 years or even longer. However, in logistics warehouses and industrial workshops, where floors may contain sand and debris, equipment is frequently moved, and loads are heavy, these conditions can accelerate caster wear, potentially shortening the service life to 1-2 years. In environments with high temperature, high humidity, or chemical corrosion, the performance of TPE casters can be affected, potentially reducing their service life to around 1 year or even less.
Load conditions: TPE casters have a specific load-bearing range. Prolonged overload can cause wheel deformation and increased wear, shortening their service life. For example, if a TPE caster with a rated load capacity of 100kg per wheel is regularly loaded with 150kg, its service life may be shortened by more than half compared to normal loads.
Maintenance: Regularly cleaning and lubricating TPE casters, and promptly removing debris from the axle and wheel surface, can reduce friction, prevent rust, and extend their service life. Conversely, if the caster is neglected over time, wear, seizures, and other issues may significantly shorten its service life.
Material Quality and Formulation: The service life of TPE casters produced by different manufacturers can vary due to differences in material quality and formulation. High-quality TPE raw materials, combined with a suitable formulation, can provide casters with improved wear resistance, aging resistance, and elasticity, thereby extending their service life.
