Suitable Environments for Metal Casters

Metal casters (steel, cast iron, stainless steel) are suitable for harsh environments due to their high strength, high-temperature resistance, and wear resistance:

Heavy Loads: A single wheel can support loads exceeding 500 kg (maximum over 5,000 kg). Suitable for heavy machine tools, port container transfer vehicles, large work trucks, heavy-duty racking and pallet trucks carrying tons of cargo. They maintain structural stability under frequent heavy loads and are particularly effective on hardened floors (cement, steel plates).

High Temperature Environments: Highly stable and resistant to high temperatures. Suitable for material transfer vehicles in metallurgical/forging workshops (>200°C), industrial ovens, and equipment carts surrounding baking production lines, preventing softening or aging due to high temperatures.

Rough/Harsh Floors: Highly hard and impact-resistant. Suitable for complex floors such as construction sites (sandstone and gravel roads), mines, and heavy industrial workshops. They are wear-resistant and scratch-resistant, and suitable for dusty and high-abrasion environments.

Mild Chemical Environments: Stainless steel casters (304/316) are corrosion-resistant. Suitable for food processing workshops (requiring frequent cleaning and resistance to mild acid and alkali cleaners) and general chemical storage (non-corrosive chemicals such as common solvents), meeting hygiene requirements and reducing corrosion.

High stability requirements: Heavy weight and strong rigidity. Suitable for fixed support casters for large precision instruments/industrial cabinets (to reduce shaking), and for low-frequency heavy-load movement applications such as large molds in workshops (low movement and extremely high loads).

Unsuitable for: Floors prone to damage (wooden floors, ceramic tiles, epoxy floors) and environments requiring quietness (hospitals, offices). Highly corrosive environments (high concentrations of acids and alkalis, strong oxidizers) require special anti-corrosion treatment to prevent rust.

Summary: Metal caster cores are suitable for heavy loads, high temperatures, rough surfaces, and mildly corrosive industrial environments. Choose between ordinary steel and stainless steel depending on the specific application (corrosiveness and cost).
