Depending on the installation method of the casters, the operation steps are slightly different.
The common installation methods and processes are as follows:
1. Screw casters (most common, suitable for most furniture)
Applicable scenarios: Furniture with reserved threaded holes such as bed frames, desks, and bookshelves.
Installation steps:
Check the thread specifications (diameter, pitch) of the furniture installation holes to ensure that they match the caster screws (such as M8, M10, etc.).
Clean the dust and wood chips in the installation holes to prevent impurities from affecting the fixation.
Hold the caster, align the screw with the installation hole, and rotate it clockwise until it is tightened (a wrench can be used to assist in reinforcement, but avoid excessive force that may cause the furniture to crack).
Test after installation: Gently push the furniture to check whether the caster is stable and whether the rotation is smooth, without looseness or jamming.
2. Plug-in casters (suitable for office chairs and light furniture)
Applicable scenarios: Furniture with round installation holes such as office chairs, folding tables, and light shelves.
Installation steps:
Confirm that the diameter of the furniture installation hole matches the caster rod (usually 10mm, 12mm, etc.), and a small amount of lubricating oil can be applied to the surface of the rod (for easy insertion).
Aim at the installation hole and push the rod vertically with force (some rods have barbs and will automatically lock after insertion).
Test: Pull the caster with force to confirm that there is no looseness; push the furniture to check whether the steering is flexible.
3. Flat caster (suitable for heavy furniture and industrial equipment)
Applicable scenarios: heavy shelves, large wardrobes, industrial carts and other furniture that require strong fixation.
Installation steps:
Put the caster plate against the preset installation position at the bottom of the furniture and mark the screw hole position.
Drill holes at the marked position with a drill bit (wooden furniture can be directly screwed in with self-tapping screws, and metal furniture needs to be drilled and tapped first).
Fix the caster to the furniture with screws through the flat plate hole (it is recommended to use a lock nut to enhance stability).
Check: Make sure all screws are tightened, the caster is not tilted, and there is no shaking after bearing weight.
