How to maintain industrial casters to extend their lifespan?

Maintaining industrial casters requires tailored measures to the caster's structure and operating environment to extend its lifespan. Key steps are as follows:

Regular cleaning to reduce wear and tear caused by impurities
Clean dust and debris from the gap between the wheel and bracket weekly (especially in dusty environments or outdoors). Use a brush or high-pressure air gun. In oily environments, use a neutral detergent to avoid chemical corrosion.

Lubricate rotating parts
Grease bearings, bushings, and other rotating parts monthly (use high-temperature grease in high-temperature environments, and rust-resistant grease in humid environments) to reduce friction, noise, and prevent seizure and rust.

Check load-bearing capacity and structural stability
Regularly check the bracket for deformation, the axle for looseness, and whether the brake is fully locked. If you notice cracks in the wheel, severe tread wear (flattening of the tread), or cracks in the bracket welds, replace them promptly.

Avoid damage from extreme environments
Elevate the equipment when it is not used for long periods of time to prevent the wheel from being compressed and deformed. Avoid prolonged exposure of the wheel to heat in high-temperature environments and prevent brittle wheel damage in low-temperature environments (use cold-resistant materials). Through the above maintenance, wear and failure can be effectively reduced, and the service life of the caster can be extended by more than 30%.
